DFW48 Dynasty League - Est '12 - League Rules Rosters: Active rosters consist of 22 total players. There will also be an additional 2 IR spots for use only when a player is injured and is labeled as IR (in-season only). Starting Lineups: Each week you can start QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1Flex RB/WR/TE, K and Def totaling 9 players. If a roster isn't submitted your roster from the previous week will be used. Waivers/Auctions: League waivers will be handled by open auction. There are no set days to process the auctions. Instead, players can be brought up for auction at any time when open bidding is available. Auctions will open on a predetermined date in the off-season every year and end at the kickoff of week 16 Each team is given a $1,000 budget to spend on open bidding for in-season and another $1,000 for the off-season period. Once that money is gone, they can't make ANY waiver pickups. It is up to each team to manage their funds. Auctions are Ebay style. You set a proxy bid and the auction ends when a 48 hour time period has gone by WHEN THE HIGH BIDDER DOESN'T CHANGE. Waivers aren't necessarily processed by any specific date, so if you want a player you have to be aggressive to get them in that 48 hour period to use them in your lineup (ex: K and Def). If you bid on player X at $11, the high bidder doesn't change unless someone outbids your MAX bid. In this case it would be a $12 bid that would reset the 48-hour timer. This process of is thought of as player acquisition so there isn't a dropped player when you win an auction. Because of this, when a team wins an auction it is their responsibility to drop a player on there roster in a timely manner. If this is not done, they will lose the player they won and the funds they used in that auction. Owners are also encouraged set up notifications in MFL so they are aware of auctions underway. You find this in FRANCHISE SETUP > CONTACT INFO. Trades: Trading players is allowed any time until the trading deadline which is the game-time of the first week 12 game. No trades will be allowed after that time. They are also allowed anytime during the off-season once the league Championship game has concluded and in fact encouraged at that time in order to better your team. Trades are processed immediately upon acceptance of the trade by both owners. All trades are final unless there is obvious collusion. If collusion is suspected, a league-wide vote will take place with majority rules. You can get a minimum of 0 VP's if you lose and are in the bottom 16 of scoring in the league or you can get a max of 4 VP's if you win and you are in the top 16 scoring teams in the league. A running tally of VP's throughout the regular season is what determines the standings from 1-12. Playoffs: This is the final playoff format for '12, we'll be able to tweak it in the off-season to make it better. Top 16 make the playoffs The bottom 16 get to play for one 1.13 pick. The middle 16 get to play for one 2.13 pick. Objectives with this format: To keep all teams involved To incent the best team from each bracket whether it's the overall league champ, the 1.13 or 2.13 picks that will be awarded to two teams. Bracket Alignments: The top 4 teams regardless of divisions from each conference will be awarded a spot in the playoffs The 8 teams from Spades/Diamonds will be ranked by VP 1-8 and the same for Clubs/Hearts. First round (week 13) will be 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5 on each side of the bracket. 2nd round (week 14), the highest team to advance on each side will play the lowest team to advance on each side, and the remaining two teams will play. Semi's week 15 and then Championship game week 16. The same format will be used for both the middle and bottom brackets as well. Rookie Draft: Each off-season there will be a 4 round rookie draft will be held 1-2 weeks after the real NFL draft. NFL rookies only (as of now unless we can find a clean way to add) can be chosen from your conference draft. This rookie draft will proceed in the defined order for all rounds just like the actual NFL draft. There is no snake-like order here. The order is as follows: Picks 1-8 are reverse order for teams that don't make the playoffs using the lowest possible points stat for the regular season. Lowest PP gets 2nd overall pick, 2nd lowest will be 3rd pick, etc. Possible points are found on the power ranking tab. Picks 9-12 are based on how the teams that made the playoffs actually finished. Those who fail to pick for themselves during the draft will be drafted automatically by the computer. For playoff teams from the same conference that lost in the same round, the team with the lower score for that playoff round will be awarded the lower pick in the rookie draft. - We'll setup 4 separate MFL drafts (Spades, Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts) - All 48 teams are registered on all 4 MFL sites - We'll setup all of the picks in each of the separate drafts based on trades that have been made, although this will be super TEDIOUS - You could in theory have picks in four different drafts if you've acquired picks from owners in each of those conferences - During the draft you can trade into any draft as they will all be going simultaneously, so if you miss out on your target in Spades you can try and trade into another draft if they are running a little slower. - This will be a rookie draft only, unless there is a clean way to allow for Vet/FA's to be picked up. I don't see a way, we'll just keep the auction bidding going at all times. - Draft order will be in order of finish for the playoff teams, the non-playoff teams will be placed in order of the regular season possible points stat which keeps teams from tanking and helps the teams that need it the most. - As far as the Toilet Bowl goes and the 1.13 pick is concerned it is still TBD Offseason: Off-season starts the minute the week 16 games are final. -Trades are opened back up at this time. -All teams with players on IR must remove them from IR by kickoff of the Super Bowl or players will be removed from your roster by the commish (determined by a default set of dynasty rankings). Roster limits will be increased by 4 at the start of the Rookie drafts. -The day final NFL cuts are due (early September) marks the beginning of our roster cut period. Between then and the start of week 1 you must cut back down to the standard 22 players not including your 4 taxi squad players. If cuts are not made by kickoff of week 1 a player (determined by a default set of dynasty rankings) will be dropped from your roster at the position causing the violation. Anyone dropped during this period will be available in week 1 waivers. **Please Note** Because of the inability to include all possible scenarios in these rules the commissioner will assume the governing position for the league. If any issues or suggestions come up the commissioner will determine the correct course of action, gain the approval of the majority of the league, and consequently enforce whatever action is necessary to maintain fair, fun, and honest play. |
